Analytical and experimental technical platforms

The EcoSys unit has platforms spread across its two sites Versailles and Grignon.

Most of the shared devices and tools are grouped into operational technical groups whose staff remain attached to the scientific teams. When ECOSYS was created, it was decided to divide the laboratory activities into three technical groups: chemistry, biology and biophysics. Each group is coordinated by an engineer (Chemistry, Marjolaine Deschamps, Biology, Nathalie Cheviron and Biophysics, Patricia Laville). These groups are the animation structures for skill sharing and for coordination of the development of methods and renewal of equipment. These groups played an important role in the preparation phase for the move to Saclay, with a strong mobilization for the design of the new building that will host ECOSYS in 2021. In the planning of this new building in Saclay, we tried to maintain coherence in the organization of the installations, with the optimization by groups of activities.

Long term field experiment network for research on the recycling of organic residues in agriculture

The mail objective of this platform is to propose a large variety of analytical instruments and the corresponded analytical skills to carry out researches in the environmental field. The mutual research axes aim at (i) characterising how various environmental compartments act and function, such as the soil; and (ii) evaluating the impacts linked to the organic contaminants’ dynamic into the environment. The platform gives a technical support for the construction and the carrying out of collaborative scientific projects.
