BioChemEnv

Analytical platform dedicated to the study of continental, terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems

Biochem-Env is an environmental biochemistry platform attached to the AnaEE-France national research infrastructure. Since 2013, Biochem-Env has been 1) conducting research projects and providing services for ecosystem observation and experimentation, 2) developing, validating and transferring methods of analysis and interpretation of results, including international standardization of methods, 3) providing skills, equipment and premises for analysis (in particular quarantine laboratories with prefectoral approval and a mobile laboratory), 4) providing expertise, scientific and technical monitoring, and training. Its areas of expertise include the measurement of enzymatic activities involved in biogeochemical cycles and the metabolism of macromolecules in soils and sediments, and/or reflecting the overall metabolic activity of these ecosystems. In benthic and terrestrial invertebrates, they concern the measurement of energy reserves and macromolecules, markers of oxidative stress and exposure to environmental contaminants...).
Among the projects to which the platform has contributed are the Réseau de Mesure de la Qualité des Sols (RMQS phase 2, GIS Sol), where it is mapping the enzymatic activities of national soils, and the PIA AgroEcoSol, which aims to develop a technical and economic sector for soil diagnosis and agroecological advice. The platform is accredited by GIS IBISA, ISO9001:2015 certified and INRAE Scientific Collective Infrastructure accredited.
