Communication at EcoSys

Communication is a fundamental pillar that ensures the cohesion of our teams and the visibility of our research activities. Our communication strategy is based on three key areas: internal communication, external communication and events.

Internal communication: uniting and informing our teams

With over 110 permanent staff and around 130 non-permanent staff each year, fluid and effective internal communication is crucial. The communications department implements a multitude of tools and actions to guarantee transparent information and foster a collaborative, friendly working environment:

  • Digital tools: The EcoSys intranet is a central platform, complemented by the weekly newsletter EcoSys-Hebdo for rapid dissemination of internal news. Sophie is responsible for their creation and regular updating.
  • Integration of new arrivals: Particular attention is paid to welcoming new employees (interns, PhD students, post-docs or CDDs) with welcome mornings, welcome drinks, distribution of internal regulations, and follow-up via the astonishment report and a weekly welcome e-mail. Sophie also creates personal CV pages and updates the shared collaborative board to facilitate their integration.
  • Organization and Visibility: The monthly organization chart, trombinoscopes, unit aliases, office list, interactive office map and office flyers are updated and distributed monthly for better orientation and mutual knowledge. The unit's agenda is updated to include all unit meetings.
  • Scientific sharing: Sophie records, edits and distributes EcoSciences on the INRAE website, intranet and national media library, thus enhancing the value of our researchers' work.
  • Conviviality and exchanges: Conviviality meetings (themed croissants, galette des rois, Ecosaveur, EcoSys open house) and the organization of a conviviality group (table soccer tournaments, blindtests, happy hours, English Lunch walks, card games) are set up to strengthen links.
  • Cross-functional activities: The communications department supports the HR department in managing data on new arrivals, and the quality department with various communication documents. The EcoSys photo library is organized and enriched, with printed selections to embellish our workspaces.

External Communication: Promoting and enhancing our research

In keeping with INRAE's main mission of promoting and disseminating research, the communications department ensures maximum visibility of the unit's work among the general public and the scientific community:

  • EcoSys website: Our website is updated daily with the latest job offers, researchers' personal pages, scientific publications, projects and events. The communications department is also working on a complete overhaul of its tree structure for optimal navigation.
  • Job advertisements: The Communications Department actively advertises our job, internship and thesis offers on the INRAE Jobs platform.
  • Communication documents: The Communication Department designs, distributes and prints various communication documents such as unit brochures and business cards to ensure a coherent, professional image.
  • Social networks: The distribution of news on social networks enables us to reach a wider audience and strengthen our online presence.

Events: Promoting scientific exchange

EcoSys is a dynamic player in the organization of numerous scientific events, both national and international in scope. These events are key opportunities to exchange, collaborate and disseminate our work:

  • Complete organization: The communications department is responsible for budget management, organizing committee meetings, creating and managing dedicated websites, managing registrations, and creating communication documents (posters, flyers, abstract books).
  • Event support: Sophie also supports the organization of other scientific events, contributing to the effervescence of research.

Training: Investing in the Future and Development of Our Agents

The training department makes it a point of honour to enhance the skills of its staff, seeing continuing training as an essential lever for performance and professional fulfillment:

  • Unit training plan: Sophie draws up a dedicated training plan for the unit, taking an active part in identifying the individual needs of each agent.
  • Collaboration with the Centre: Sophie assists the Centre's permanent training department in drawing up the annual training plan.
  • Annual campaign: Between July and September, the Centre organizes a campaign to collect individual training requests, in order to build the annual training plan in line with the demands of our teams.
