42 plots, Dehérain

EcoSys is responsible for the maintenance and scientific development of 2 heritage sites: Dehérain at Grignon, set up in 1875, and 42 plots at Versailles, set up in 1928. Initially devoted to agronomic research on the effects of various soil improvers and fertilizers, since the 1980s these systems have diversified towards a more “environmental” goal, with research into the dynamics of organic matter and micropollutants in soils. They have proved invaluable in addressing questions of soil evolution over long periods (centuries) and the evaluation of stable carbon pools. They are also valuable tools for retrospective studies on the state of soil contamination or the spectral behavior of soils. It is strategic for EcoSys that they continue to be used by scientists to support new projects: DataVerse project on the Dehérain trial (Grignon), Inte-unité project on the 42 plots (Versailles).
